Airline Blade pickup
This is a very interesting Blade style pickup from a 50's Airline which is dead. The pickup mounts
to the pickguard which mounts the the guitar this allows the pickup to be isolated from any body
vibration. Pictured here is the pickguard assembly with the dead pickup prior to rewind.
I am showing pickup because the consturction is rather strange, and it has a very nice tone too.

This shows the pickup removed. Notice the bobbin is made of paper and the coil loosely fits over
the bar magnet it has a lot of play.
This was a little tricky to rewind being that is was constructed of very old paper.

Here you can see the magnet welded to the metal base plate.
